Doug,

I attached an electronic copy of the note for your records. The number (12-0063) is the report number in our records. Let me know if you need anything else.

Jaime Bermudez, Lieutenant
El Segundo Police Department
348 Main St., El Segundo, CA 90245

WILMORE,

YOU ARE NOT WELCOME HERE. YOUR PRO-TAX, PRO-EMPLOYEE
STANCE IS NOT WHAT WE WANT. THIS IS A CHEVRON TOWN AND WE
OWE OUR EXISTENCE TO THEM AND SHOULD BE GRATEFUL. GET THAT
THROUGH YOUR HEAD.

ITS GOOD THAT YOUR CHILDREN DON’T GO TO SCHOOL HERE BECAUSE
THEY WOULDN’T MAKE IT THROUGH THE DAY.

BEAT IT!!!!!!!

Below is the scanned image of the actual note that was attached to the email.

Note by Michael D. Robbins on March 23, 2012:

Doug Willmore wrote in an email to L.A. Times write Jeff Gottlieb, “FYI – someone left this on the windshield of my car on Friday night.” The Friday before the date of that email was January 6, 2012.

The misspelling of Willmore’s last name makes the note look as if it may have been contrived by Willmore himself, and he used the misspelling to throw suspicion off from himself.

Willmore sent emails to relatives and associates outside California, asking them to post anonymous contrived messages to his City Manager’s blog in support of his attack against Chevron. Some of these emails are posted on this web site as public record city documents.

Jeff Gottlieb’s January 28 L.A. Times article claimed Willmore said he found the threatening note on his car windshield outside City Hall, but Karen Foshay’s KCET SoCal Connected TV show has Willmore on video claiming he found the threatening note on his car outside his residence.

The January 28, 2012 L.A. Times article by Jeff Gottlieb, “El Segundo, Chevron at odds over oil company’s taxes”, states:

Doug Willmore wasn’t on the job long as El Segundo’s city manager before discovering just how deep the town’s loyalty runs to the oil giant that put it on the map.

After the city began discussing a big tax increase for the Chevron oil refinery a few months ago, he walked out of City Hall to find a note on the windshield of his car.

“This is a Chevron town and we owe our existence to them and should be grateful. Get that through your head,” it read.

The note ended: “Beat it!!!!!!!”

The KCET SoCal Connected show transcript states:

Gonzales: But before you dismiss this as small-town paranoia, listen to what happened to Doug just after that December city council meeting.

Willmore: I was actually outside my, my home. I walked underneath into the garage it had parking, underground parking and there was a note on my car that basically said, “This is a Chevron town. You don’t’ understand. Get out of here.” But here was the chilling thing – it said, “It’s a good thing your children don’t go to school here because if they did, they wouldn’t make it through the day.” Who does that?”

Gonzales: Police never found out. But Chevron denies any involvement and called the note reprehensible.

    CALIFORNIA ELECTION ALERT !

Tuesday, September 14, 2021 is Recall Election Day in California.

Vote YES on the first question to RECALL GOVERNOR GAVIN NEWSOM; and

Vote for LARRY ELDER on the second question to elect Larry Elder as governor if a majority of the votes counted voted Yes on the first question.

Vote-By-Mail ballots were mailed out to ALL registered voters, dead or alive, moved out of the state or not, legal or illegal. This was done to maximize the opportunity for election fraud and theft to keep Governor Gavin Newsom in office.

The election fraud can include stuffing the ballot box with fraudulent ballots voting NO on the RECALL and NO VOTE for the new governor, and destroying, discarding, or not counting ballots voting YES and LARRY ELDER.

You can vote by mail, but it is probably safer to vote in person at the election poll on or before September 14, 2021 to help ensure your vote gets counted.
